Aafje is an accomplished cellist and contemporary dancer and comes from an artistic family, her Mom was a dancer/choreographer, and so Aafje already heard about Pilates from a young age. In fact, her Mother trained with Joseph Pilates in the 1960's in New York City. 

As a cellist and director/choreographer she collaborated with musicians and dancers in the Netherlands, United Kingdom and Spain. Aafje has been teaching cello and dance professionally for years and starting studying Pilates while doing her Master of Arts at Trinity Laban in London (2004-2005). Aafje's interest in Pilates continued while studying analysis of movement, space & rhythm and directing contemporary dance and classical music under guidance of Mrs Valerie Preston Dunlop.

To maintain her own movement skills she went into the Pilates Teacher training and education at The Pilates Studio The Hague with Marjorie Oron (Master Instructor Level II) and Jane Poerwoatmodjo. (Instructor Trainer Level III) Aafje finished her final exam with Sari Mejía Santo (Grand Master Instructor Level I).

Aafje is a technical and inspiring teacher. Her desire to learn and grow as a teacher make her a valuable member of our team.
